<p>The high performance braking system for the Jaguar XKR-S was developed by Jaguar&#8217;s Special Vehicles team in partnership with British competition brake specialist Alcon, which supplies the stopping power for some of the fastest cars in the world, on both road and track. The brakes were perfected over thousands of miles of testing on some of Europe&#8217;s most demanding roads, and by Jaguar&#8217;s engineering team at the Nurburgring in Germany. The Jaguar XKR-S Alcon R Performance braking system features 400mm diameter discs on the front and 350mm discs at the rear. Each disc is radially ventilated for maximum cooling and to resist fade even under the hardest use, and will perfectly match the Jaguar XKR-S&#8217;s increased top speed. The friction surfaces of each disc carry a series of crescent-shaped grooves that help clear water from the discs during wet weather and help to keep the brake pads clean at all times. The Alcon R performance brake package uses lightweight monobloc six-piston callipers at the front and four-piston callipers at the rear &#8211; each calliper finished in a distinctive red and carrying the R logo.</p>
<p>The Jaguar XKR-S coupe&#8217;s dynamic balance focuses on achieving an even more sporting character while retaining the XKR&#8217;s supple ride comfort. Its blend of control and refinement begins with the extremely stiff all-aluminium body structure, and a re-tuning of the XKR&#8217;s all-wishbone suspension. The Jaguar XKR-S features new springs, new anti-roll bars and unique dampers. All the major suspension parameters are recalibrated, and the Jaguar XKR-S uses Jaguar&#8217;s proven Computer Active Technology Suspension (CATS) with unique tuning. <p>The limited edition coupÃ© in Ultimate Black is identified by the unique Jaguar XKR-S badge on the rear of the car. The exterior of the Jaguar XKR-S has been subtly enhanced to make it recognisably different without being overstated. Another significant element in the revised handling package is that the ride height of the Jaguar XKR-S has been reduced by 10mm compared with that of the XKR, and the Jaguar XKR-S sits on unique, lightweight 20-inch Vortex forged alloy wheels with bespoke tyres. That naturally makes the Jaguar XKR-S look lower and even more sporting, but it has a number of other distinguishing details. It features a new front aerodynamic splitter, side sill extensions, revised rear spoiler and rear diffuser panel, with contrasting finishes to details such as the front mesh grille, power vents, sills and rear diffuser panel.</p>
<p>The Jaguar XKR-S has an Active Exhaust System, which is specifically tuned to ensure quiet, refined high-speed cruising while producing a much more hard-edged and sporting V8 sound under hard acceleration &#8211; not over loud, but full of performance character.</p>
<p>While the mechanical specification and the exterior revisions are driven largely by performance and dynamic enhancement, the interior changes reflect Jaguar&#8217;s vision of the Jaguar XKR-S as an uncompromisingly luxurious sports car.</p>

This is complemented by Piano Black veneer, Charcoal Alston luxury headlining, plus a revised instrument cluster &#8211; calibrated to accommodate the higher top speed &#8211; with XKR-S branding. The contrast-stitched leather trimmed steering wheel, alloy and leather gear selector with alloy surround, bright aluminium pedals, and XKR-S branded head-restraints, tread-plates and carpet mats further set the tone for this very special interior.</p>
<p>Taking Jaguar&#8217;s 525W Premium Audio system with Pro Logic II surround sound as a starting point, renowned premium British loudspeaker manufacturer Bowers &amp; Wilkins has tuned a signature speaker system specifically for the cabin of the Jaguar XKR-S. High output, low distortion Kevlar mid-range speakers and specially designed aluminium-dome tweeters deliver superb mid-range and extended high-frequency responses.</p>
<p>On sale in summer 2008 and limited to just 200 cars in European markets only, the Jaguar XKR-S is an even more driver-focused sports grand tourer than the XKR.</p>

<p>A Jaguar lançou o XKR-S, uma versão limitada e (ainda) mais desportiva que o XKR. O coupé superdesportivo de quatro lugares ganha toque ainda mais apimentado nesta novidade e os seus 4,79 metros de comprimento nem parecem tanto devido às proporções bem elaboradas do modelo britânico. A motorização não muda e há apenas algumas modificações visuais na grande novidade.</p>
<p>Entre as novidades do XKR-S, há travões específicos fabricados pela Alcon. Os discos são ventilados e perfurados e têm 400 mm de diâmetro na dianteira e 350 mm na traseira. As rodas são feitas em alumínio forjado e medem 20 polegadas. A suspensão ganhou novas molas, os amortecedores foram modificados, as barras estabilizadoras ganharam novas formas e a direcção ficou mais directa. A carroçaria fica 10 mm mais próxima do chão que o XKR e a suspensão conta com o ajuste variável CATS, o mesmo disponível nos outros Jaguar, mas com ajuste específico para o XKR-S.</p>
<p>O motor é o mesmo de 4,2 litros, oito cilindros em V e de compressor volumétrico que equipa o XKR. Até a potência máxima gerada por este propulsor é a mesma, de 416 cv. As mudanças para o XKR-S, as únicas mecânicas de um modelo para o outro, estão no sistema de escape. Ele não faz a potência aumentar, mas confere um ronco mais desportivo ao motor. A aceleração de 0 a 100 km/h de ambos dura 5,2 segundos, mas a velocidade máxima é maior no XKR-S. Ele alcança 280 km/h, enquanto a versão “normal” tem velocidade limitada eletronicamente em 250 km/h.</p>
<p>Além de 10 mm mais baixa, a carroçaria do XKR-S ganhou melhorias aerodinâmicas e é pintada de tom preto metálico baptizado de Ultimate Black, que contratasta com o contorno prateado da carroçaria, dos pára-choques e do difusor traseiro, que conta com quatro saídas de escape, duas em cada lado. Há ainda uma barra cromada na parte traseira, que confere sofisticação, além de um aerofólio para entregar mais desportividade.</p>
<p>Por dentro, o XKR-S traz a maior parte do painel revestida em couro negro baptizado de Warm Charcoal, utilizado também no resto do interior do veículo. Assim como os outros XKR, o “S” traz faróis de xenon direccionais, controlador e limitador de velocidade activo, sistema de navegação com touch-screen de 7 polegadas e capacidade de leitura de DVDs, além de contar com conectores de portas USB e entrada para iPod.</p>
<p>Toda essa exclusividade também se reflete no número de veículos que serão produzidos: apenas 200. É a Jaguar tentando voltar a atrair compradores e a ser referência entre os desportivos. Talvez seja a primeira de algumas novidades superdesportivas britânicas.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>Andrew Beckett, o jovem brilhante advogado infectado com o vírus da Sida, reune com o advogado Joe Miller, a quem pede ajuda no sentido de provar que foi despedido do Escritório de Advogados onde trabalhava, por estar doente.<br />Gigantesco, o processo de luta, contra a sociedade, contra a morte, contra o próprio advogado, também ele homofóbico.<br />No final desta cena, Miller sai de casa de Beckett com as lágrimas nos olhos.<br />Há muitos anos que me emociono com esta cena, que deu a Tom Hanks o Óscar pelo filme <a title="Philadelphia, de Jonathan Demme - 1993" href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107818/" target="_blank">Philadelphia</a>.</p>
<p>Para que esta cena ficasse para sempre gravada como um dos grandes momentos da História do Cinema, muito contribui a voz da Divina <strong>Callas</strong>, no papel de <em>Maddalena </em>na ópera <strong><em>Andrea Chenier</em></strong>, de <strong>Giordano.</strong></p>
<p><strong></strong><br />Maddalena, disposta a entregar-se ao tribunal revolucionário para salvar o poeta Andrea, conta a Carlos como a sua família morreu num incêndio, num desesperado acto de amor:</p>

Pois! Mas fui ao Tivoli com a querida Kim  ver Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo.

Mas fui ao Tivoli com a querida <a href="http://seculodadanca.blogspot.com/2006/12/kim-ensaia-remontagem-do-lago.html" target="_blank">Kim</a>  ver <a href="http://www.trockadero.org/" title="Teatro Tivoli - 25 a 30 de Março" target="_blank">Les Ballets <span>Trockadero</span> de Monte Carlo.</a></p>

<p><a><img style="float:left;cursor:pointer;margin:0 10px 10px 0;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_jqUutYJeb_c/R-zuZ2UKnuI/AAAAAAAABkY/3FHTWKs6cZE/s200/trockadero1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>Uma maravilha. Mesmo quem não seja espectador habitual de bailado clássico vai gostar, pois os bailarinos são todos tecnicamente muito bons, o que não acontece numa  Companhia Clássica. Têm apontamentos geniais, como a brincadeira com a coreaografia de <a>Balanchine</a>, os gags são hilariantes e, mais surpreendente, esquecemo-nos que são homens! Há um calmeirão que dança com uma graciosidade e uma leveza invulgares.<br />Todos os bailarinos homens deviam ver este espectáculo; ganhariam alguma elasticidade e melhorariam aquelas pernas hipermusculadas e o bailado ganhava com isso.<br />Imperdível.</p>
<p><a><img style="float:right;cursor:pointer;margin:0 0 10px 10px;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_jqUutYJeb_c/R-zuomUKnwI/AAAAAAAABko/7dtfBjZY9Cc/s200/trockadero3.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>À margem: anteontem a sala estaria talvez a dois terços, o que foi pena. Curiosa, a plateia, com pouca gente nova, muito público idoso proveniente do bailado clássico e muitos casais alternativos.<br />Esta discriminação positiva reflete a nossa sociedade, que entende este tipo de espectáculo como sendo coisa de maricas, o que acaba por justificar também a presença de tantos casais alegres <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

Nisto aparece uma velhinha com uma sacola de comida e começa a pôr dentro do caixão cenouras, tomates, alfaces, etc., enquanto os soldados olham para ela surpresos. A velha continua a colocar alimentos no caixão e um dos soldados educadamente interrompe-a:<br />- Minha senhora, por favor, não pode fazer isso!<br />Responde a velha, enquanto continua a colocar a comida:<br />- O que é que você quer, filho? Que os coitados dos vermes comam só merda ?</p>
